Minecraft Pig

A pig is a common type of passive mob that can be found in the majority of grass biomes. Pigs may be driven by being outfitted with a saddle and a supply of pork chops. Pigs often litter the backyards of butcher shops, livestock enclosures, and stables in rural areas.

Java edition

In the overworld, pigs will spawn in groups of four directly above the grass blocks in any grassy biome that has a light level of 9 or higher.

Bedrock Edition

Pigs will spawn in groups ranging from one to three atop grass blocks in every grassy Overworld biome with a light level of seven or above, except for frozen tundra and woody badlands plateaus. After each world generation, individuals have a good chance of spawning on grass.

Drops by a pig

An adult pig drop:

1.   1-3 raw porkchop / You can cook the raw porkchop to cooked porkchop with the help of a        furnace.

2.  1-3 xp if the pig were killed by a player.

3.  1-7 xp for breeding the pigs.

Pigs' behavior

Pigs make noise and travel across the Overworld in small groups to avoid dangers and dangerous falls. Pigs also oink. When they are attacked, pigs run away for a short time, just like other types of passive mobs.

If lightning strikes a pig or piglet, the animal will mutate into a zombified Piglin or a newborn zombified Piglin, depending on the severity of the strike. If the pig has a saddle attached to it, the saddle will be removed, and the player will dismount. If you are playing on the serene difficulty setting, and a pig gets hit by lightning while doing so, the pig will not transform into another form but will still absorb damage from the impact.

Breeding Pigs in Minecraft

Carrots attract pigs to players who are within six blocks of them. There is a five-minute waiting period after successful breeding before the parents can attempt another pregnancy. Piglets reach maturity in twenty minutes and remain close to their parents afterward. The remaining time until they reach maturity is cut by 10% if you feed them.

Riding the pig in Minecraft

A saddle on a pig makes it possible to ride it like a horse. A pig may look directly at the player for a few seconds after being saddled with a saddle. Carrots on sticks make it easy to maintain control over saddled pigs. They get off to a slow start but eventually speed to 5.20 blocks per second. Pigs can be guided through bodies of water only one block high using a carrot and stick. However, moving through water that is deeper than that requires the user to dismount.

If you are riding a pig and use the carrot on a stick, the pig will run faster, but it will lose seven durability as a result. If the pig and rider were to fall, the pig would absorb the fall damage, but the rider would not be knocked back or have their movement speed slowed down. Piglets cannot be saddled or ridden.

Riding a pig allows a player to navigate across spaces that are one block higher.
